Educational Visits

Goldthorpe Primary Academy strongly believes in providing all children with opportunities to experience environments outside their local area – we are committed to fostering courageous, kind and respectful learners who are given time in these different environments to develop their self-awareness, resilience, skills and knowledge.

Each class takes part in at least one educational trip per year, plus a visit to a religious place of worship. We also invite educational speakers into school to enhance our curriculum offer as well as taking our Year 6 pupils on a 3-day residential trip to our outdoor learning centre, Dallowgill, in North Yorkshire!

In addition to this, Year 6 also visit Crucial Crew at the Lifewise Centre in Rotherham as part of our Personal Development Curriculum, preparing them for life in the wider world and developing their understanding of personal safety in different situations.

Some of our latest educational visits for pupils in school include the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Conisbrough Castle for a local study, Cannon Hall Farm to experience a day in the life of an evacuee and The Magna Science Centre in Sheffield – take a look at our photos!
